antique (ca. 1910-1920?) Majolica figures.
An April 21, 2012 EBay auction featuring an identical pair of
figurines, described as
“
Continental Majolica Figurines
”,
sold for 00.
The figures offered here require restoration and consequently have less value.
Due to item size and condition, purchaser must personally pick items up. If, upon inspection, purchaser decides not to accept items, a full refund will  be given.
Both figures appear to  have all original parts.  The violinist has original face glaze with detail, then on left chin enamel is lacking, and then is present around to the neck. It appears to us that, during manufacture,  a skin tone glaze was applied after original firing on both figures and then
refired. This skin tone
glaze
needs
restoration on the neck and left hand of the
violinist.
The dancer
’
s face skin tone is fine, but the right arm requires restoration. That arm appears also to have a clean crack which can be covered by the restoration. The cape, with its many folds has had glaze added which is peeling.
