Description

Very rare book. Printed in Calcutta 1970 and no longer in print.
From the front jacket flap:
" A Distant admirer of Gandhiji since his student days, the author though a member of the executive service, began to publish his articles on Gandhiji from 1938 in the prabuddha Bharat on the non-political aspects of his life and thought.
When he served as Labour Commissioner he published with the encouragement of Dr B. C. Roy, Then Chief-minister, the Gandhian Technique and Tradition in Industrial relations.
From time to time, over the years he published articles in The Statesman, The A. B. patrika, The Hindustan Standard, The Labour Gazette, Pradbuddha Bharat and other journals.
Some of these articles and his contributions on the occasion of the Gandhi Centenary celebrations in the less known but not less significant area of activities of Gandhiji are being re-published here.
The Author claims thtat the intellectial stimulus and the moral satisfaction he felt may be shared by all who approach Gandhiji's living ideas and thought-provoking writings, even with a questioning mind."
The book itself is in good condition. The cloth covers are clean, flat and square. The binding is tight and in very good condition. The pages are generally clean aside from a few pencil marks (10 or so underlining instances and a few small notes also in pencil)
The dust jacket is complete and in fair condition with the most notable defect being a small 1/2" square piece missing at the top of the spine, a small closed tear on the spine and bumping and chipping at the bottom of the spine. I am not positive, but it appears the title could be handwritten on the spine of the dust jacket. It does not appear that there was anything printed there underneath.  The jacket is generally tanned.
