French Antique Christofle Tea Pot – 1920’s
A lovely, heavily silverplated small size tea pot by the famous French silversmith C.C. Christofle who founded the company in the 1840’s.
It is very similar to a set in the 1926 Christofle catalogue described as ‘
Louis XV, côtes torsades pattern’.
It measures 4 ½ inches high and is 7 ½ inches at its widest points.
The tea pot has an elegant curved ‘spiral twist’ pattern on the main body and on the lid.
The handle is exquisitely crafted in a knot pattern and the pourer has a
torsade
pattern.
The interior is clean and the exterior has very minor traces of surface use.
It is hallmarked and stamped on the bottom.
The hinge is very solid and the lid closes tightly.
Please read before purchasing
Vintage and antique objects have lived and been used and because of that, they sometimes show it. The condition of the object is described as accurately as possible, including its character flaws. But that is really part of the attraction and enjoyment of an old piece.
