Our Silasket food grade Silicone group-head gaskets are in use on home and commercial espresso machines worldwide. These are the most common size and fit a multitude of home, prosumer, and commercial espresso machines.
Already known to work well with Rancilio, Expobar, .....
To facilitate certain group head portafilter combinations that require a thicker gasket we developed 0.5 mm silicone spacer gaskets that are included with each E61 main gasket. Portafilter ears can bend over time necessitating a new portafilter(expensive) or a thicker gasket. These E61 gaskets are already installed and in daily use in restaurants and coffee shops. How long will this gasket last?     Based on preliminary data we believe 2 years or more (machine on 24/7)
How do I know if it will fit my espresso machine?  Please check the specs/ dimensions of the gasket for your machine before ordering. Our E61 Silasket gasket is the most common size and will fit a wide variety of espresso machines.
The ID inner diameter and the OD outer diameter and thickness. If the OD and ID are the same or nearly the same our experience tells us it will fit. On occasion the OD of the original rubber
gasket is smaller than ours by 1-2 mm and will be difficult to flatly seat in the grouphead. In this case we have had good results by trimming a tiny amount of the OD with sandpaper in a even
uniform circular manner. The ID inner diameter seems less critical as it can readily conform to fit a larger diameter channel.
Even standard rubber gasket replacement can often be challenging and some OEM's ship with gasket lube.
The most challenging Silasket installation thus far was in an old 2 group semi auto Brasilia with portafilters designed for a different machine. The portafilter inserted at about 8 o'clock (nearly
parallel with the front of the machine. In addition the OD of gasket was about 2 mm less than ours. We sanded our silicone gasket to approximate the OD of OEM. Flatly seated very nicely but
needed a spacer gasket to effect desired portafilter locking position. Therefore we know it can fit non standard size machines with a few minutes of modification, namely sanding. Other installations quite uneventful and straightforward.
