Antique German Majolica Chamber Stick w/Finger Loop Handle and Water Lily Motif

Description

This is a lovely German majolica chamber stick that measures approximately 7” in length, 3 ¼” in height and 5 ½” in width.
A pretty pink water lily motif is enhanced with beautiful bright and bold glazes while an ornate gold tone finger loop handle adds further ornamentation to this elaborate chamber stick.
This piece is unmarked with the exception of “Musterschutz” engraved into the underside of the handle.
This is a German mark that protects this piece against copying.
There is another incised mark on one of the metal stamens in the center of the suspended pink lily that reads, “D.R.P No. 75”.
According to my research this is an abbreviation for Deutsches Reichs Patent.
This unique chamber stick is in good condition with the exception of the following flaws:
two chips on one of the pink flowers, a crack and what appears to be repair to the same flower, a few manufacturing flaws, minor tarnish on the metal and candle wax residue in the holder.
Despite these flaws this is still a very exceptional and stunning piece of German majolica and a rare treasure from the past.
